🎄 CHRISTMAS CARNIVALS · DEL CERRO, CA

Christmas carnivals in Del Cerro.

A Christmas carnival is a full carnival styled for the holidays: striped booths in red-and-white and green-and-white under warm string lights, candy-cane skins on the games, a balloon arch with candy canes, peppermint and gingerbread, seven concessions, and a Santa and Mrs. Claus photo station. The carnival is the evening, not a side attraction at it. My Little Carnival produces christmas carnivals in Del Cerro for HOAs, churches, schools and neighbors who want a holiday gathering with games in it.

Del Cerro hosts have four public places to ask about: Princess Del Cerro Community Park, Lake Murray Community Park, San Carlos Recreation Center, and Mission Trails Regional Park. Of the four, the two community parks and the recreation center are the ones that suit a booth layout. A neighborhood that already runs a tree lighting can add a carnival around it, with the host handling the tree.

My Little Carnival produces Christmas carnivals across San Diego County and builds the layout around whatever the host already has planned.

WHAT THEY USUALLY LOOK LIKE

A Christmas carnival around a Del Cerro park.

Start with a tree lighting the host is already running. The tree, the host's job, stands at one end of the lawn. At the other end, the balloon arch, red and white with candy canes, peppermint and gingerbread, marks the carnival entrance, and the striped booths run between them in a long row. Games carry candy-cane skins, prizes sit on every shelf, and warm string lights come on in time with the tree.

Concession booths fill the middle of the row with caramel apples, snow cones, nachos, pretzels, churros, popcorn and cotton candy. Santa and Mrs. Claus hold the station beside the tree, so a family can have the photo after the lighting. The walk-in snow globe inflatable, a photo prop with nothing falling inside, can stand beside the arch, and snow-flocked trim dresses the props. Without a tree lighting, the same row works as a Saturday afternoon on its own.

LOCAL LOGISTICS

Specifics for Del Cerro.

  • Princess Del Cerro Community Park and Lake Murray Community Park: Both are city parks, so reservations go through the city. My Little Carnival provides the paperwork a permit asks for.
  • San Carlos Recreation Center: Ask the center which of its grounds can take booths, and book through its office.
  • Mission Trails Regional Park: A regional park managed on its own terms, so any event there starts with the park's managers. A park lawn nearby is the easier path.
  • Tree lighting: The tree, its lights and the countdown belong to the host. My Little Carnival supplies the carnival around it.
  • Cost bands: An HOA or neighborhood event costs about $4,000 to $10,000. A company party costs $10,000 to $25,000, a large multi-department event $25,000 to $40,000 or more, church events begin near $2,000, and the smallest custom event begins around $1,500.
  • Host handles: Chairs, tables, drinks, catering, tents beyond our booths and heating for the cold evening. My Little Carnival can run a generator for our own equipment if park power falls short.

Common questions.

Can a carnival go with our tree lighting in Del Cerro?

Yes. The host runs the tree and the lighting, and My Little Carnival supplies the booths, games, concessions and Santa station around it.

Which parks should we ask about?

Princess Del Cerro Community Park and Lake Murray Community Park, plus the San Carlos Recreation Center. Each handles reservations on its own.

Can we use Mission Trails Regional Park?

The park's managers decide that. A community park lawn is simpler for a booth layout.

Who is Santa?

My Little Carnival provides Santa and Mrs. Claus for the photo-op station.

Will it be cold after sunset?

A December evening outdoors can feel cool. Heating belongs to the host, and guests can plan on layers.

What does the smallest version look like?

A few booths with the Santa station, starting around $1,500.
