🎅 SANTA PHOTOS · UNIVERSITY CITY, CA

Santa photos in University City.

A Santa photo station is a seat, a backdrop and a queue, staffed by Santa and Mrs. Claus, and built inside a larger holiday event. Santa photos in University City belong to community nights, school events and neighborhood gatherings, and each is planned as an event with a few booths and concessions around the line.

Standley Community Park and Standley Recreation Center offer a neighborhood-scale place to run a Santa line, with the lawn for the queue and the center nearby for the host's own volunteers. Marian Bear Memorial Park is a canyon park, and the city can say whether an event fits there. A school lot works for a school evening.

My Little Carnival brings Santa, Mrs. Claus, the sleigh set and the arch, then adds the booths and concessions that give the line company.

WHAT THEY USUALLY LOOK LIKE

Santa and the line in University City.

Picture the set at one end of a lawn: a wooden sleigh, Santa seated, Mrs. Claus beside him, a harlequin backdrop and an arch of candy canes, peppermint and gingerbread overhead. Families approach in groups. The line can run along the path, curl on the grass or wrap a booth, and the host can mark its start with a sign. The crew proposes a spot with room in front for photographers and flat ground for the queue, then walks it with the host before the date. If the park lawn is shared with another group that day, the host can ask the city to confirm which section is theirs.

Pictures come from the families' own phones, or from the photographer My Little Carnival offers if the host adds one. Along the queue stand a few striped game booths with prizes and a concession stand. The seven foods are churros, pretzels, popcorn, cotton candy, nachos, snow cones and caramel apples. A walk-in snow globe inflatable can serve as a second backdrop; it is dry and nothing falls inside it. Because Santa is not sold on his own, the surrounding booths are part of what the host books.

What's typically included.

  • Santa and Mrs. Claus.

Both are provided by My Little Carnival for the booked window of the event, so a PTA, a church or a neighborhood group does not have to recruit a Santa of its own.

  • Sleigh set and backdrop.

A wooden sleigh and harlequin backdrop that photograph well from the front, with space on the seat for a family.

  • Candy-cane arch.

Candy canes, peppermint and gingerbread on a balloon arch, which can also mark the entrance if the host wants one landmark at the gate and another at the station.

  • Photographer, if wanted.

Families can use their phones, or the host can bring the My Little Carnival photographer.

  • Neighboring booths.

Striped game booths with prizes stand beside the queue, so children waiting have something to play while a parent keeps their place in line.

  • Concession stand.

Seven concessions near the line, from churros to caramel apples.

LOCAL LOGISTICS

Specifics for University City.

  • Never alone: Santa is booked within an event. The smallest custom event My Little Carnival quotes starts around $1,500.
  • Standley Community Park: A lawn gives the queue space and leaves room for booths beside it, and the host can point the line away from the street.
  • Standley Recreation Center: The center is next to the park, so the host coordinates the two with the city, and any indoor space for volunteers is the host's to arrange.
  • Marian Bear Memorial Park: A canyon park may restrict events. The city can confirm before any date is chosen.
  • Photos: Phones or the optional photographer. No prints or galleries are offered with the station.
  • Host side: Tables, chairs, extra tents, heating, drinks, catering and other vendors belong to the host or the venue.
