Christmas carnivals in College Area.
A Christmas carnival is a carnival whose every element belongs to the holidays: red-and-white and green-and-white striped booths strung with warm lights, candy-cane signs and skins on the games, a balloon arch of candy canes, peppermint and gingerbread, concessions, and a Santa and Mrs. Claus photo station. The carnival is the event, not an accessory. My Little Carnival produces christmas carnivals in College Area for schools, churches, HOAs and neighborhood groups, and fits each one to a park lawn, a campus or a lot.
College Area planners can start with Montezuma Neighborhood Park and Colina del Sol Park, two city parks with lawn space, and with school campuses in San Diego Unified School District. The College-Rolando Library is a local landmark rather than an event site, so a carnival would sit on the park or campus near it. A group that wants a pre-break event can count backward from the last school day to set a date.
My Little Carnival produces Christmas carnivals across San Diego County, and each layout is drawn after the ground has been seen.
A Christmas carnival in College Area.
The entrance gets the arch: red and white, candy canes along the curve, peppermint balloons and gingerbread figures at the base. Past it, striped booths follow the edge of the lawn in a long row, green-and-white next to red-and-white, with warm string lights overhead. Each game carries a candy-cane skin and a prize shelf. A park lawn lets the row run long, and a campus yard calls for a loop that stays inside the fence.
Concession booths hold churros, pretzels, popcorn, cotton candy, nachos, snow cones and caramel apples. The walk-in snow globe inflatable is a photo prop, with nothing falling inside, and snow-flocked trim can finish the arch and the props. Santa and Mrs. Claus take the last station, so a family passes every game on the way. A school can hold the carnival after dismissal, and a neighborhood group can run a Saturday afternoon into the evening.

Specifics for College Area.
- Montezuma Neighborhood Park and Colina del Sol Park: Both are city parks, so the host reserves through the city and My Little Carnival provides the paperwork a permit asks for.
- School campuses: San Diego Unified School District sites send vendor paperwork through the school office, and a pre-break date is easiest to lock once the PTA has the calendar.
- Cost bands: A neighborhood or HOA event costs about $4,000 to $10,000. A company party is $10,000 to $25,000, a large multi-department event is $25,000 to $40,000 or more, church events start from about $2,000, and the smallest custom event starts around $1,500.
- Early dark: Winter sunsets arrive in the late afternoon, so a school event that ends at dusk gets the string lights for its last hour.
- Power: My Little Carnival can run a generator for our own equipment when site power falls short.
- Host handles: Chairs, tables, drinks, catering, extra tents and heating.
